Hiya, I’m Elizabeth

Host

Like you I am a commercial interior designer. I have worked damn hard to get where I am at in my career but honestly it has not been easy. There have been late nights with carpel-tunnel knocking at the door, stressful client interactions, design fails or like we like to call “lessons learned,” there have been moments of uncertainty and complete dedication. From a young age I knew I wanted to be an interior designer but honestly I didn’t know what I didn’t know. As I have evolved my design practice the profession has unveiled it self in unexpected ways that have shocked and surprised me. So that’s where this podcast comes in. We will unpack the process of practicing commercial interior design.

So a little more details about my self to build my street cred……

I have a Bachelor of Interior Architecture and Masters in Whole Systems Design which provides a unique holistic perspective . I am passionate about the facets of the commercial interior design sector and pair that with my innate ability to make synergies and connections between systems.

I love design and most importantly, I love talking and spreading knowledge about design.

I have served on the IIDA Oregon Board for 8 years, mindfulMaterials working group, and am currently part of the Portland Materials Transparency Collaborative. I am an award winning educator with a innovation in teaching award from CIDA (council for interior design accreditation). I am currently practicing commercial interior design with a multi-disciplinary team on civic, educational, hospitality and corporate projects. So that’s a little about me.

And now I can’t wait to get to know you. It will take a team to build this platform so head on over to Instagram and engage.

I welcome you to Mile Long Trace. Till next time keep designing y’all!
